Celebrating 2026 Pension Awareness Week
The 2026 Pensions Awareness Week was officially launched during the week of July 20 to 24, 2026,Theme "Understand Your Pension, Secure Your Retirement" The awareness week—spearheaded by stakeholders including the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Zambia Association of Pension Funds (ZAPF), and pension funds across the country—focused on several core messages: 1. Informed Decision-Making: Emphasized that true retirement security starts with workers actively understanding their pension schemes, tracking regular contributions, and knowing their specific benefit entitlements. 2. Call to Action for Transparency: Served as a call to action for employers, policymakers, and pension providers to make pension information simpler, more accessible, and easier for workers to navigate. 3. Financial Literacy & Inclusion: Highlighted the alignment with Zambia's National Strategy on Financial Education, stressing the role pensions play in expanding financial inclusion and mitigating old-age poverty.
